Photographer Cathrin Jo Ann Wind produced an unusual fashion editorial for Diva magazine, Austria. American painter Edward Hopper, who in the 1950s captured the solitude of the contemporary individual in sensitive pictures, inspired her shoot.
To capture the feel of the paintings, Cathrin commissioned miniature models, which she then photographed using meticulous lighting. Designs by J. P. Gaultier Maille, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry Prorsum, Stella McCartney, Missoni and Maurizio Pecoraro were added later.
An incredibly elaborate post-production completed the look: resulting in an editorial filled with light and shadow play, between reality and dream.
A very interesting concept, executed beautifully.

I love these images! The shadow play looks amazing!
they have a film noir quality about them, if you ignore the colour of course.
These photos are stunning, I can't even fathom how much time and work it took to get them so perfectly composed and to get that effect. Just beautiful.
WOW. These are surreal... Film noir [avec couleur oui :) ] but also like old movie posters or pulp fiction covers!
When I first read this;
"To capture the feel of the paintings, Cathrin commissioned miniature models, "

Very original editorial! I love how they have such an old, retro feel to them and such warmth. It's almost hard to tell that it's a photo!
