The week that was...

As you might have imagined, these posts take an incredible amount of time and effort to put together. As fun as they are, and as much as I love hearing everybody's opinions (please people, more opinions!), I might limit their frequency from now on. For the sake of my sanity and health (yes I am a very melodramatic person). This week has been filled with more moving of furniture and unpacking of boxes, but the most exciting movement came on Thursday when...drum roll...I got a new bed! Finally, no more sleeping on a mattress on the floor! It's a queen size. So luxurious. So worth the wait. Other than that, it's time to start searching for another casual job. This time I'm thinking waitressing. Apparently, I'd be a natural. Here's hoping.
But for now, let us take a closer look at the week that has just come to a close...

Quote
"Tell me, what is Juliette Binoche's secret? I wonder why she has been so respected for so many years. What's she ever had going for her? She has nothing and is absolutely nothing."
~Gerard Depardieu.
"I have never met him. Oh, maybe once. I remember we had dinner together and he was very charming and told me that I was lucky to make so many beautiful films."
~Juliette Binoche, in response.
I really respect Juliette for being mature about the situation, and not taking the obvious "revenge comment" route. It really says a lot about her, and demonstrates the seeming falseness of Depardieu's comments.

Wardrobe Envy
Katy Perry in London.
I have been lusting after this polka dot
Wheels & Dollbaby dress ever since I first saw it in the ad campaign. Gosh, I love this brand. Not sure I'm loving how Katy works it, but it's nice to see the brand is becoming more and more well-known.

Music

Midnight Remember is the follow-up album of Melbourne boy band Little Red (look out Backstreet Boys). The band's music has been compared to that of The Beach Boys in it's old-fashioned rock and roll style. Listen to: Rock It.

In other news...

H&M
has confirmed that it is indeed collaborating with Lanvin for a collection of both men's and women's wear that will launch November 20 in North America and November 23 worldwide. Designed by Alber Elbaz and Lanvin menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, the collection will be unveiled on November 2 via a film on H&M's website.
Elbaz says of the collection: “I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. I thought it was a smart concept so I say 'I do.' This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”

Vintage Beauty
Marilyn Monroe
Oh, Marilyn you are so wonderful, it hurts. If only actresses today had even half your fire, or a third of your star quality. I promise, I'm not obsessed. But it's not my fault she's so fabulous.

Currently...
...watching: One Born Every Minute, a British documentary on childbirth. It's beautiful (God, I'm so cliche).
...listening to: White Rabbit, by Jefferson Airplane.
...reading: Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger - I'm not sure if this is meant to be a comedy, but it has me in stitches.
...eating: things I shouldn't be. Have been put on a yeast-free diet for health reasons (my constant irritability, perhaps?), which makes me want to kill myself.

Tell me all about your week!

Have a beautiful weekend!

how rude and unneccessary of gerard and how sensible of juliette! oh yes, i'm always up for anything navy and polka-dotted :) that wheels & dollbaby dress is adorable! i'm really interested in seeing what Lanvin dishes up for H&M, i heard they've opened a H&M in australia (sydney, i think, unfortunately)! i'm not at all surprised that lara & rosie won model of the year, they are such natural beauties! hope you're well, romany :) ♥

agree with Chantelle, what's up with Gerard Depardieu making those rude comments...
Yeey for your new bed!
Unfortunately we don't have a h&m yet, this spring we'll have, can't wait for the collection though;;)

Romany!!! Honey!!... I will comment on everything later (but yayy re the bed!)... the yeast free diet!! I completely understand!! This is what happened to me last year.

I could only eat vegetables and meat and I couldn't find a cliff to jump off :(
...I 'pulled' myself out of it but my body shuts down when I have overdone it, I can't eat fruit though because the fructose is the worst kind of sugar...converts to bad bad yeast.

Google 'candida'. Also, take Inner Health Plus probiotics twice a day and Google Threelac... this is an amazing product and actually works.

I understand your pain honey. This is the WORST thing. I cried the first time we went to a restaurant after i was diagnosed.

Definitely the mark of a true lady to have such a response, I think more people could stand to take a lesson from her...

The polka dot dress is cute, but a slit on a mini dress? No thanks, haha!

I'm still very undecided about how I feel about all these designer-discount collaborations. Usually because the materials and construction of the discount store remain the same, but you will have to pay more for the designer pieces, which makes me wonder if people are paying because the designs are just that much more innovative, or simply because they like the label.
