What is a 'teddy girl'?"The teddy girls of 1950s London -- their sartorial assertiveness contrasted with the bombed out environments they occupied and their feisty appropriation of male styles (often down to the classic duck-tail haircut) set them apart from the standard Fifties Feminine."
Mina Estevez, Hint Fashion Magazine
"The teddy girls left school at 14 or 15, worked in factories or offices, and spent their free time buying or making their trademark clothes -- pencil skirts, rolled-up jeans, flat shoes, tailored jackets with velvet collars, coolie hats and long, elegant clutch bags. It was head-turning, fastidious dressing, taken from the fashion houses of the time, which had launched haute-couture clothing lines recalling the Edwardian era."
The Sunday Times
Pretty damn impressive for a first editorial, I must say.

The 'thing' is... we all knew didn't we that the gorgeous delectable Tahnee wouldn't be the one working the most?
Unfortunately it was always going to be Cassi who got the most editorial and catwalk work. Just because that this is the reality of the fashion industry
The 'other thing'... this "drunk bogan girafe" is a very very good, versatile model. In that awkward graceful way of (90s supers) Nadja Auermann and Kristen McNemany... although Nadja was a teutonic Goddess!!
My sons occasionally watch AusNTM with me (for the perve factor!!) and they all agree that Tahnee was ouch! They could not for the life of them think why anyone would find Cassi attractive but I did tell them that Cassi was the one 'they' would push for an international career and Tahnee would be pretty much forgotten after 6 months.
People want to see Tahnee. The fashion industry wants the people to see Cassi.
This editorial is not to my taste but it is very good. Cassi was gorgeous in the Portmans campaign and a few other editorials plus she's the 'face' of Stylestalkers new campaign and she did walk the runway in Paris... before abusing the French for speaking French instead of English!
That is such a gorgeous editorial!
i have to admit, the girl is gorgeous. she's insane to have passed up the opportunities she did. its something most of us can only dream of..
xx

great photos esp the one with the coke as a hair roller :)
and my photos were shot at a different location to the island retreat post :)
Super impressive, and it would have been such a shame if she hadn't shown her beautiful again! Just gorgeous!
I love the vinttage feel of this editorial! The photo on the yacht is my favorite one :)
