The Curve

Marilyn Monroe
photographed by Sam Shaw, 1956
Long Island

It would be impossible to celebrate curves without mentioning the Queen of Curves, herself, Marilyn Monroe. Ah, if only Ms. Monroe were still around today to show the young'ns how the whole movie star thing is really done.
"Marilyn is a kind of ultimate. She is uniquely feminine. Everything she does is different, strange, and exciting, from the way she talks to the way she uses that magnificent torso. She makes a man proud to be a man."
Clark Gable

I think Marilyn is a prime example of how curves can be so pretty we get these stick thin celebrities that all look the same and I for one am getting tired of it.

I think these are the first photos I've ever seen where she actually looks as curvy as they say she was! Very enlightening b/c I found my mind being conflicted between seeing her as beautiful, and yet also feeling a twinge of "hmm she could stand to lose a few"
